stamp collection

Stamps are truly one of my favorite things in the whole world. When I was little, I don't remember exactly when or how it started, I began collecting stamps. I would crudely cut around anything interesting on the top right corner that would come in the mail and then began buying up sheets of stamps as they were released to the post office. Then in 6th grade I inherited my grandfather's collection when he passed away and that's how I got the real treasures. A few years later I stopped collecting but I still have a binder with hundreds of stamps and it's one of my favorite things I own. I'm not sure what it is about them.. I've always liked the colors and how small they are. They're like miniature posters and the old ones were often so intricate and detailed in such a small space. I realize now that they were probably my first introduction to graphic design and I suppose it resonated with me in some way.  For my first real post I thought I would share some of my favorites from my collection...

I'm SO glad you were able to FIND this stamp collection when you were home at Christmas! I never thought of them as mini-posters, but they truly are! and very special ones, too!

I've admired your work for Look Mexico and Band Marino for awhile and then today I was utterly delighted to find your work on a wedding blog while I was looking for invitation ideas!!!! I can't wait to get home tonight and show my fiance your work! <3

I love your illustrations! I found you through the oncewed wedding blog! Your works are so beautiful and sweet, I can't stop staring at it! I collected stamps when I was a child as well! And I kind of started up again. I find myself buying pretty stamps at antique fairs, purely for its prettyness, because I really don't know anything about the worth of rare stamps! I really love your collection! It is so colourful, and I love the illustrations!
