    architecture

I've been researching architecture lately and these are some of my favorite inspiration images..

The top left image is Russel Wright's Manitoga.. nestled into a rock quarry in the Hudson River Valley. I love the way it blends into nature and the handcrafted mixed with modern qualities. (the image is from this book, which I'm dying to get). more images here.

Top right is one of my favorites as well.. The Brain in Seattle by Tom Kundig (built in 2001). It was built as a creative studio space.. can you imagine working in there?? I love those windows..

The bottom two are another Russel Wright space, a townhouse in New York City built in 1949. Again, I love the mix of structure with nature and the windows. More info and images here.

Handcrafted Modern is AMAZING... buy it now!!! Even among the many gems in the book, Russel Wright still rises to the top of my list... love his indoor/outdoor bath set up on page 72.
