van gogh portraits

when I was in new york for a couple days this week I got a chance to visit the MoMa for a little bit and saw one of my favorite paintings, the Portrait of Joseph Roulin with that quirky wallpaper background (above right). I'm a big fan of Van Gogh, especially his portraits.. and I always love his color palette.

Great minds think alike! I just posted about February being "National Potato Lovers Month" and included Van Gogh's "The Potato Eaters." So funny! I, too, am a big Van Gogh fan (and I've been on the search for a one-eared goat to add to our farm so I can name him "Van Goat." I know, a bad joke).

I actually just saw that same painting yesterday during our visit to NY and I loved it. It is so great to see his marks/strokes up close and in person. Such a thrill! I also loved seeing the Women photographers exhibit; I practically had to be ripped away!
