I'm trying very hard to convince myself that it's Fall here in Florida. I'm putting on my tights and boots, sipping pumpkin spice lattes, wearing my favorite cardigans... but alas, the natives just think i'm crazy because it's still 85 degrees outside... and I probably look a little ridiculous.
Growing up in the Northeast Fall was always my favorite season. As the temperature slightly cools here I'm definitely looking forward to being outside more and enjoying the weather (crazy looking or not). One of my favorite things about Fall? The layering..which is done wonderfully in this Fall J.Crew lookbook.
also.. this is an interesting read about the transformation of the J.Crew brand a few years ago, which i find really fascinating. I hadn't realized that Jenna Lyons, the current creative director, has been with the company for over 20 years working her way up. I love her aesthetic.
i love light on black art.. especially that pull-down chalkboard map from Restoration Hardware but it's most definitely out of my budget. *sigh* someday... maybe. How fun would it be in a kids room?! (though I suppose you could easily DIY a chalkboard map on a wall with paint)
left to right, top to bottom: pull-down U.S. chalkboard map, California flowering trees print by Claire Nereim (i adore all her work), Dr. Auzoux chalk plates from Room&Board (also quite pricey but so lovely).
It's that time again! I love Fall.. Even though I don't get to experience the leaves changing and crisp air here in Florida, it does mean that we can start to be outside without melting.
feeling... feminine, tailored, rustic & ethnic
1. Room & Board Louis Chair / 2. Anthropologie booties / 3. persian rugs / 4. UO striped scarf / 5. Anthropologie Coat / 6. Marc by Marc Jacobs satchel / 7. dog art print / 8. Maroon5 (i've been feeling the catchy tunes lately) / 9. Built by Wendy sweater / 10. hide rug (mulling this over for my office)
New goods are in the online shop! I finally added our collection of kids party invites (soon to expand with more designs for other events) that I first announced before the stationery show. All of the designs are available with write-in lines or as imprintables that you can run through your home printer.
AND... I also added some new Halloween cards & invites to the shop (3 card designs and 2 invites).. These were so much fun to work on.
hope you like!
I've been feeling pretty under the weather this week but I've got to tough it out at the office because there's just too much to be done. SO, I thought I would just pretend that I'm home cuddled up with a blanket watching an old classic film and decided to put together a little round up of how to be under the weather with class..
1. put on some soothing tunes like my favorite artist right now, Melody Gardot; 2. Curl up with a classic book; 3. cute Anthro mugs; 4. Heath Ceramics tea pot; 5. Ikea throw; 6. J.Crew sequin sweatshirt- perfect for classy lounging; 7. put on a classic film such as An Affair to Remember (Cary Grant makes everyone feel better); 8. sip some Kusmi tea- pretty tins & wonderful flavors
I'm so excited to announce that we have our pre-order up for our new Heirloom Recipe Card Boxes! We only have a limited quantity on our first run and don't expect another batch of boxes to arrive until the Fall so reserve yours now if you want one! We'll begin shipping boxes in about 4-6 weeks and if you order before July 12th you'll get free shipping (U.S. ground).
A bit about the boxes...
Our heirloom recipe card boxes are made by local craftsmen from locally salvaged hardwood (trees that were destined for landfills). All of the boxes are unique and hand-crafted during a 3-month-long process (a month for the mill to source the salvaged wood, a month to build in the workman's studio, and a month for the hand-rubbed finish to dry). The lids are then screen printed with two different design options and they come with 12 dividers and 24 recipe cards. Click here to order!
Many thanks to Grace & D*S for posting about the boxes this morning!
p.s. we're also offering free ground shipping on all orders in the shop over $100 through the 12th.
Angela Ligouri's imported Italian cotton ribbon is one of my favorite things ever.. The colors are beautiful and I love the texture. We're actually going to be stocking the ribbon when we open our retail store in Winter Park so if you're in the area you'll be able to get it locally (I'm stocking a handful of unique items that you can't find in the area that I'm really excited about).
I especially love this new sampler pack that lets you try a yard of 20 different colors..
We've got a selection of gifts & cards for Father's Day as well a few new items in the shop!
psst.. save 10% on your order by entering code "POPS" at checkout. Expires June 15th.
This handcrafted address file by lovelydesign is one of my favorite things ever. I've been wanting one ever since I first saw it back in 2006 (cruising the design blogs while I worked as an art director). I just ordered one has a little gift to my desk in the new office and I can't wait for it to arrive!
